The WFH Life: What I Learned During my First Week at Postscript

Even with a shortened holiday week, my first four days came and went as successfully as I had hoped! My first week was full of training sessions and online learnings to solidify all the new knowledge.

For anyone who isn’t familiar with Postscript, I’ll provide a quick summary of the product and the value the brand offers for customers! (After all, starting next week, my job will be to start selling it!)

Postscript is an SMS marketing platform for Shopify stores that strategically focuses on the communication shops have with their customers through text messages. Postscript allows for the creation and execution of hyper-segmented campaigns and highly targeted automations.

If you’ve ever received a text after leaving a checkout page without placing an order, you most likely received an Abandoned Cart message a few hours after you left. These automations are strategic for shops to win back customers who may have otherwise been lost.

Another Postscript feature is through desktop and mobile pop-ups. Has your online shopping ever been halted by store pop-ups? They usually prompt you to enter your email address or phone number for a certain percentage off. (To see this in real-time, you can visit Brooklinen, one of Postscript’s largest customers!)

Postscript helps to educate Shopify stores on the best way to connect with their customers through SMS — driving revenue, increasing traffic, and creating happier, more loyal shoppers for every brand!

From automations, to keywords, to coupons, to integrations — I learned the ins and outs of the Postscript platform and can’t wait to bring this new knowledge to life as I lean into my new role as a BDR!

The work-from-home life also proved to be another learning curve throughout the week. I met my team for the first time through Zoom and have engaged in most of my conversations with my coworkers and managers through Slack!

As I step into my second week, I am making an effort to connect with five different people from various teams to strengthen my network moving forward! I introduced myself through Slack and asked for a 15-minute Zoom call to chat and get to know each other better! I have confidence that building a solid network with my team early on will only benefit me later down the road.

Overall, my week was a 10 out of 10. I know that I’m precisely where I need to be at this point in my career, and I couldn’t be more excited to jump in and start making my mark.
